Nest Mini Problems with Spotify

When I try to play music from Spotify on my Google Nest mini, Google nest audio and Google nest hub 2. Generation which I can play on my phone without any problems and an Alexa can do it without any problems, Google Assistant tells me.

However, Google tells me that the music is not available or cannot be played at the moment. What can be the reason for this? The Spotify account has already been disconnected and the pro account has been added.

Hi there!

Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you’ve been experiencing with your speakers and displays. I understand that when you try to play Spotify on any of your Nest devices, you receive a message that the media is not available at the moment. No worries, help is here.

In order to give you the correct steps, I need some extra information. Here are some questions for you:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Does this happen with any other music app?
  • Which music provider have you configured in the Google Home app?
  • Do you have Spotify Premium?
  • Is your Google Home app up to date?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken?

In the meantime, you can try the next steps;

  1. Unlink and link again to Spotify, following the next steps:
    1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
    2. Open the Google Home app.
    3. Tap your account.
    4. Verify that the Google account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap x to close the account window. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown icon, then tap another account or Add another account.
    5. Tap x to close the account window.
    6. Tap Settings.
    7. Under "Services," tap Music.
    8. To choose your default service, tap the music service you'd like to use. Assistant will use this service when you say, “Hey Google, play music.”
If your music service isn't listed, make sure you've downloaded the app and signed in.
    9. Under More music services, you can link and unlink other available services. Tap a service to link or unlink it.

You can check the following articles for further information: Listen to music on Google Nest speakers and displays and Link your music services and set your default service

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel.
