Nest Mini Settings Make the Home App Refresh or Kick Out

My Google nest mini used to work just fine until one day it stopped working in its group with another nest mini. Now it no longer appears to connect to for music in YouTube music or by cast. It will play by itself only, if u talk to it. I can't change its settings as everytime I click on the settings icon for that device, it ether goes back to the homepage to then refresh the app or boots me out of the Home app altogether with a message that says Google Home has closed due to a bug in the app. Update app once developer has resolved the issue.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: when did your issue begin? Were there any changes made before the issue started? Are you able to control your other Nest Mini using the Google Home app? Is the issue isolated to just the YouTube music app? Do you have the latest version of the Google Home app?

Make sure that your Google Home app is updated by going to Playstore for Android or App store for iOS. You can also uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app. Using another phone will also help further isolate the issue.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni

I fixed it by resetting the Google mini and turning on browser history. This is the only fix that works, I tried everything else. The glitch may carry over to another mini temporary after fixing this one. But it shouldn't last. If it does persist on that one, do the same fix and you should be good to go. The glitch is mostly contained to one device.
