Nest Mini keeps disconnecting

Hey,

My Nest Mini keeps disconnecting from my WiFi every few days. I have already contacted the Google support but they told me that they can't do anything because I bought it from a 3rd party seller. I have already tried resetting it and it's pretty close to my router.

Hi 1010Jan1010,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you are experiencing with your Google Nest Mini device. Can you share the case ID you had with our support team for us to review it and see what we can do?

Thanks,
Alex

Hey,

Thanks for the response! Here's the case Id: 3-3679000035659. I have also had a conversation via email with them after that.

Thanks, Jan

Hello there,

Got it. Kindly provide your Google Nest Mini device’s current firmware version. The one I see on the case is an old firmware from your August email.

Best,
Alex

This is the version running on the nest mini: 375114

Hello 1010Jan1010,

Your Google Nest Mini has the updated firmware. Let’s further look into it. Are you using a dual-band router? If yes, on which band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) is your Google Nest Mini connected? Have you tried connecting it to the other band, or moving it closer to the router?

Regards,
Alex

Hey,

How can I check on which band it is connected? It's standing pretty close the the router already

Hi there,

If 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz have different Wi-Fi names, you can check it in the Google Home app. Open the Google Home app > Tap your Google Nest Mini device > Settings > Device Information > WiFi. Also, if you have access to your router settings, change the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, then reboot both the router and your Google Nest Mini.

Kind regards,
Alex

Hey Alex,

Both Networks have the same Wifi name and I currently don't have access to the web panel.

Hello 1010Jan1010,

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Our team has already informed you that we are unable to replace your device as it is out of warranty. Also, please note that Google does not have a service center in your country for device repairs. To help troubleshoot the issue further, we recommend trying to set up your device using a mobile hotspot. For this setup, you will need two mobile devices - one to act as a router and another to set up your Google Nest Mini.

Cheers,

Muddi
