Nest Mini no longer list ANY Wi-Fi signals

I bought and 2nd gen Nest Mini back in December 2023.  Worked great for quite a while.  I went to use it to stream music, and it said to "connect to Wi-Fi".  I reset it a few times and even tried to connect to Wi-Fi 6' from router.  Zero Wi-Fi signals show up to even connect to.  I've reset the router a couple times but doesn't help.  For some reason, the speaker now speaks Spanish, but I can still do the setup all the way to "choose Wi-Fi".  Nothing shows up.

Thanks

Hi bsdavis0531,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with your Google Nest Mini when connecting to Wi-Fi. But no need to worry, I am happy to help!

Before we get started with advanced troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. Can your mobile device connect to the Wi-Fi network on your current location?
  2. How far are you from your Wi-Fi router?
  3. Do you have a strong Wi-Fi connection in the location you’re trying to set up your speaker?
  4. Have you tried to set it up using a mobile hotspot connection?
  5. Does your router offer other bands like 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection? If it’s a 6 GHz network, does your mobile device support 6 GHz?
  6. Have you configured your Wi-Fi network to be hidden?

Meanwhile, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to get your Nest device to connect to Wi-Fi:

Network and Placement:

  1. Confirm if the SSID (network name) is hidden: Can you see the network listed on other devices which aren’t currently connected to the network?
    1. If not, then the SSID is broadcasting but hidden, and you will need to enter the SSID and password manually in the Google Home app during setup.
  2. Wi-Fi Signal Strength and Wi-Fi Network Interference: As you have already mentioned, your Nest Mini is within range of your Wi-Fi router and has a strong signal. Keep in mind that electronic devices, and other Wi-Fi networks can sometimes interfere with signal strength.
  3. 2.4 GHz Network: It is generally recommended to connect your Nest devices to a 2.4 GHz network for better stability. Check your router settings and make sure the Nest Mini is connected to the 2.4 GHz band (if available).

Nest Mini and App:

  1. Google Home App: Ensure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. Updates often contain bug fixes and improvements related to device connectivity.
  2. Reset Nest Mini: I understand that you have already tried it, but you can also check the following article to Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays.

Please check the following article to Connect your Google Nest speaker or display to Wi-Fi, for the Wi-Fi network not listed in the Google Home app or if Your speaker or display is not connecting to Wi-Fi

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Mario
