Nest device keeps playing my playlists instead of new search.

I have a YouTube Premium subscription and I have some playlists on my account.

When I say, "Hey Google, play Bollywood songs", it plays my YT Music playlist "Driving Bollywood".

When I say, "Hey Google, play Marathi songs", it plays my YT Music playlist "Marathi Morning Songs".

The expected behavior is that it should search for these albums on the internet and play those instead of playing one of my playlists.

Is there a setting for always searching the internet instead of playing existing playlists?

Hi  pratiksanglikar,

This is not the experience we want you to have; let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Does the issue happen when requesting for a specific song or artist?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help

Once done, try to change the names of your playlists so as not to sound like the songs that you’re requesting. Let me know if the behavior persists after the change.

Best,

Dan

Hi, the suggestions above haven't really helped resolve the issue. It happens for any song/album that resembles with my created playlists.

Hello pratiksanglikar,

Thanks for coming back to us. Could you check if you have the same issue when using the Google Assistant app on your phone? Also, could you try renaming one of your playlists to see if your device will have the same behavior?

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
