Nest hub (2nd Gen) Plays Top Stories Videos randomly

I recently purchased a new nest hub 2nd Gen.

for no reason the hub will start playing videos from 'top stories' - how can i disable this? basically I'd like it to behave in the same way as my 1st gen nest hub devices and display the clock until i ask it to do otherwise!
