Nest hub + Samsung soundbar pairing

Tim91
Community Member

have Nest Hub (NH) 2nd gen and Samsung soundbar Q800t. My goal is to say "ok Google Play music" and stream it from NH to soundbar. Or when I play music on my nest hub it’ll play on both the hub and soundbar at the same time.

im unable to connect via Bluetooth from the nest hub or add the soundbar to my google home via the app (iOS). Any recommendations on any fixes?

ty in advance!

Hey Tim91,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

To create a speaker group, you would need 2 or more of the devices listed below. You can group speakers, Smart Displays, and Smart Clocks in any combination.

  • Google Nest and Home speakers and displays
  • Chromecast (2nd generation and above)
  • Devices with Google Assistant
  • Chromecast Audio
  • Speakers with Chromecast built-in
  • Google Nest Wifi point

Here's the steps on how to connect Bluetooth enabled devices to your Google Nest Hub:

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth device and make sure it’s in pairing mode. Customers may need to press the pairing button on the Bluetooth device, if the device has a dedicated pairing button.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Select the speaker or display.
  4. At the top-right, tap settings > Audio > Default music speaker.
  5. Tap Pair Bluetooth speaker. The speaker or display scans for Bluetooth devices.
  6. Tap the device once it appears on the screen. The Bluetooth device pairs with the speaker or display.
  7. Tap Done.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Alex
