Nest hub weather issues

Lmcgoo
Community Member

Weather on my nest hub has 2 issues:

1) will not switch to C (despite trying all suggested remedies)

2) location weather is neighboring city not even listed in my home app addresses. To get my city I have to specifically ask for it.

@Lmcgoo

This is how Google Nest says weather units get specified: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7550597?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid

For the location of your weather, perhaps Google Nest has an error in its database, but I don't know if you can get Google Nest to correct it. Several customers in this forum report that Google Nest's database has their addresses in the wrong timezone, but Google Nest's responses just deflect into other topics and never even acknowledge that there is such a database, or tell them to get Google Maps to correct it, and the only response from Google Maps is to say that sort of correction will take a long time.

Thanks...it seems there must be something unique with nest hub as original google home units work fine (and continue to after nest hub addition to set up in same house)

@Lmcgoo

That's pretty odd for only one Nest Hub or Google Home to return the wrong data. Have you tried a reboot either from the Google Home app or by unplugging it for a short time? If that doesn't solve it, perhaps it's worth removing it from the Google Home app and doing a factory reset (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477?hl=en) and then re-installing it.

Hi folks,

Thanks again for helping here, MplsCustomer. Lmcgoo, I hope you've got the answer you're looking for. In addition, doing the factory reset reverts your Nest Hub to its default and original settings, setting it back up is a must and must be on the same network as your phone.

If you're still in need of any assistance, feel free to let us know.

Best,

Dan
