Nest mini appears as disconnected and can't create a group

Similar to what I've read here, my Nest Mini can't create a speaker group nor join one; the following error appears: "There was a problem communicating with Google. Please wait a few minutes and try again" (or something of the sort, the error appears in Spanish and I'm translating).

Apart from that and appearing as disconnected on the Home app, the device seems to work as expected.

When setting up the device the configuration seems to go fine but in the last config screen an error appears, though the device appears afterwards on my Google Home screen under the right room, albeit always disconnected.

I've tried factory reset a few times (both on 5 and 2.4 networks), rebooting the router and phone, clearing cache of the Home app and Pay services app and reinstalling the Home app to no avail.

Firmware: 279713

Cast firmware: 1.54.279716

Hi LuisHerreo92,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us.

As suggested in the thread you posted, try to create a new home and set up your Nest Mini then check if it will make a difference.

Please keep me posted.

Best,
Juni

No difference at all, same error happens at the same last step of the configuration. And then the device appears in the new home but disconnected and cannot create a group.

Hey LuisHerreo92,

Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. To further isolate network issues, please try setting up two of your devices (including the device that has issues joining an audio group) using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Nest Mini). Once done, try to create a group and check if you will have the same issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

I have tried setting the device up in two different networks, although not in a mobile hotspot. I'll try with the mobile hotspot this evening and tell you how it goes. Thank you.

I just tried. Again, no difference at all. Same error happens at the same last step of the configuration. And then the device appears in the new home but disconnected and cannot create a group.
