Nest mini was set up successfully but can't be found make sure your mobile device and Nest mini are

I recently changed internet providers and I was trying to sync my mini to my home app because it stopped syncing. I ended up doing a factory reset and ever since I've done that I can't get the mini to connect with the Wi-Fi. I get an error message that says your nest mini was set up successfully but cannot be found make sure your mobile device and Nest mini are on the same Wi-Fi network there's only one Wi-Fi network and it automatically signed into it. Can anybody help me figure this out? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the home app several times I factory reset the money and I've even gotten a mini out that I just recently bought that I was going to put in another place in my home and set it up so that it was brand new nothing works I still get the error message

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,

Hey,

I'm facing the same issue. I'm not able to connect it to the wifi. I have tried to reset my Nest mini a couple of times, reinstalled my google home app, and tried to relink it but in vain. Do you have any troubleshooting that I can follow? Any kind of help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you're having the same issue.

I would suggest double checking your network that you're getting it to as well as the router to make sure that they are set up correctly. I'd also suggest reviewing this article as it has some great troubleshooting steps.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Hey Garrett,

Thanks for your reply.

There is only one router in my apartment and it has both 5Ghz as well as 2.4Ghz which automatically switches. I do not have access to the router since my router comes under a shared apartment network. The article you suggested states that it won't work with the shared apartment network, which I think is the problem. Can you suggest something that I could do to make it work?

Thanks!

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that. It sounds like that is the issue because you would need to enter in the password for the wifi network which the devices won't allow you to do as they don't have that type of capability.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Hey Garrett,

What are my options if I have a public network at my apartment? or it doesn't work in any way?

Thanks!

Hey there,

Unfortunately it would not work if you are having to enter in a type of password or code to get access to the network. If you don't have to do that, then you should be able to access the network just fine without any issues.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Garrett DS
