Nest mini won't connect to wifi.

I just had my router replaced, same name and password.

I have 2 google nest mini, 1 bedroom, 1 living room.

After router replacement neither would connect to internet.

Living room, went through setup, had to enter same password manually to connect.

Bedroom, same, can hear the 'connect sound' but doesn't connect.

Swapped nests ........ living room nest still works in bedroom. ...... bedroom nest won't connect in living room.

 

Just sits there saying "I can't connect to the wifi network ...... you might ........"

What do I do now?

Fixed it with a reset.

Turn mic off

Hold center of mini nest speaker for 15 seconds.

Various noises, but don't let go until sounds stop and 4 orange lights.

Wait a minute or two, google mini nest will suggest you setup using Google Home app.

Turn mic back on, Setup as normal.

All works.

Connecting to Mini Nest ....... connected ...... did you hear the sound (yes)

Improve ......... no

Where is device ....... Kitchen

Select my wifi

enter manually ..... connect

 

Could not connect with your nest mini (this is shown the INSTANT I hit connect)

 

The other mini nest (called 'living room') connects easily in any room, I can carry it around and plug in wherever.

Dear Muddi, I have become so frustrated trying to battle my risen "smart tv"to allow me the "privilege" of connecting my fire stick I have just about sworn off tech and returning to the worlds of classical music and literature .I have had a lifelong struggle with severe ADD,which only serves to make the nuances of Tech seem insurmountable. At this point I'm not even sure why I am writing this other than it allows for a readable"primal scream". At this point, I'm so overwhelmed I'm just going to end this pathetic diatribe and go to bed. Hi i have the exact same problem.  I have changed net work provider, reset my 3 minis. None of them will connect. Ant suggestions? Thanks.

The reset did not help me on my Pixel 4 XL, I had to add it to Google Home on my husband's Samsung tablet. That worked fine.

where do you find how to setup on google hub, my doorbell does not ring on the hub and make announcement

 

Still won't connect despite many resets

Do you know if your router is broadcasting? Can other devices connect to your router with your password? If you know how, set your router to broadcast at 2.4 GHz. That seemed to work for me. I set it back to 5Ghz after setup with no issues.

I have the same problem and feel like throwing the nest against the wall. I've followed all the steps, to factory reset etc but I still can't get it to work. All because I had a new router.  The Google home app asks me if I would like to connect to the living room speaker but cant connect. Then tells me connection failed, try factory resetting, which I've done umpteen times now.

Sorry to hear that you're still having connectivity issues with your Nest Mini. To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Nest Mini).

Hi Stella,

Turn off Microphone then place your fingers on the four lights for around 10 seconds, you should hear commands from your google nest. Open up your home google app and follows the instructions.

It worked for me, good luck

Misschien is het handig om twee groepen te maken. 1-Woonkamer en 1-Slaapkamer. Zo heb ik het op gebouwd en het werkt super.

Hey Lou3,

 

Thanks for the input. Have you tried resetting your device prior connecting it to the new router?  If yes, try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Nest Mini). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

I’ve had the same problem and successfully connected to the hotspot but I still am unable to connect to the wifi even after factory reset. Any solutions?

I posted my question above but I’ve tried everything in connecting it to the wifi to no success however I’ve been able to connect it to a mobile hotspot. Any solutions?

Do a factory reset and start over
