Hi
I just bought the Google Nest Hub and was really excited to run my photos through it. I have since discovered that only a certain number of photos in the album are displayed. How can that be? Surely that’s the whole point of having it in an album - to show the WHOLE album.
I followed a few posts which said you need to favorite all the photos, so I did that but nothing changed when I chose the Favorites album to display. The same 10 or so photos were chosen to rotate.
I have unplugged the Hub to see if it resets but still the same photos are displayed.
Very disappointing indeed! I feel I’ve been shortchanged. How is it that in this day and age of technology, you cannot spool through ALL of the photos in an album??
I gather that Google chooses the photos based on some AI. I don’t want that, just run them all. Other devices don’t restrict the display.

I finally solved this problem by doing the following:
1) In the settings for the hub in Google Home click on photo frame ans set the option for personal photo curation to Live Albums Only
2) In Google Photos, go to back up and sync and ensure that back up device folders is on and includes the relevant photos
Let us know if this works!

I tried this and I'm still not getting all the photos in my album. And it's an album I specificity created just to play on the nest.
Any other suggestions?

Things like whether the picture is in fact a video can keep it from displaying, it seems. Also, check to see if the aspect ratio ("portrait Google photos", not really explained clearly) is keeping them from appearing. If it's on "hide" any pictures that aren't horizontal (landscape) won't play.

Yeah there are no videos and I cropped them all to fit 😞 Google hates me

I just used "Live Albums Only" and I now get ALL the photos in my Photos album.

Thanks - I've had the same issue with a Nest Version 2 that I got for Christmas. The "live albums only" setting seemed to do the trick. I wasn't getting ANY of my photos in my Google Photos album to show at all before I changed that setting. Now they're showing up. So far so good. [not the original poster]

Spent hours on the support line and found this thread. "live albums only" also fixed the issue for me.

For the same issue I applied the "live albums only" setting but my custom made folder still gets a minor subset of photos displayed 🤔

Hey folks,
It looks like we have come to a solution so I'm going to be locking this thread. If you have any other concerns or questions, please feel free to create a new thread.
Have a great day.
