Nest not working

Hi there. Having a problem where my Google Nest Mini. After 4 solid white lights for about a minute the lights disappear and nothing seems to happen. I can't turn the volume up or down, connect to the device on the utilities app or Google home. Before anyone sends me links to factory reset instructions I can't do it. The device isn't loading to the point where I can do that and taking the power cable out 10 times doesn't work either. I've been trying all sorts of things for hours and have been through a lot of forums.

You mentioned trying these steps. Did you try it for a total of 11 times? It's 11 times you need to do it in total, not 10?

  1. Unplug the power cord from your speaker, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and wait until all 4 LED lights on top illuminate.
  2. Repeat step 1 ten more times (so a total of 11 times).
  3. After plugging your speaker back in the final time, you'll need to wait a few moments for the device to reset. It will announce "Welcome to Google Home. To get started, download the Google Home app on a phone or tablet" to let you know that it’s ready for setup.

Yeah it's 11 in total because you start the process while it's already on. I even tried an extra time just to make sure and nothing is working. I think it's completely bricked as I've not come across one person with the problem I'm having. The lights on the device (4 solid white lights at start-up) aren't even in Google's own "light meaning" manual. 

I don't think the device is even registering that I'm trying to factory reset it.

In that case, I'd suggest you contact the Nest support team.

  1. Go to Contact Us - Google Nest Help
  2. Select "Google Home", type a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
  3. Click "Other", then click "Next step" until you see the contact options.
  4. Choose to get a call or call or chat with the team as available in your country.
