I use YouTube music on iPhone . My nest audio speaker pair is visible in Google Home app , these are also visible from other apps like Spotify , but these are very rarely visible from casting in YouTube music .
I ensure I am on the same ssid ( wifi ).
the speakers can play using voice command by the same YouTube music account , just that many times the device is not visible in YouTube music cast option.
strange that Google home on the same phone shows the speakers and it also shows what is playing on them including the YouTube music icon , but from YouTube music app the speakers don’t appear in casting opiton
this is as of April 2026

Hi Jenny
Thanks for replying. The answers are
I have two speakers setup in a stereo pair
I have YouTube Premium subscription
yes from YouTube Music casting to the pair at times has worked . In recent times that intermittent working is gone
usually restart of phone or switching the SSID and back , or opening Google home seeing the speakers and playback there and then opening the YT music app would resolve the issue .
now since last few days it’s kind of become permanent that cast in YT does not show the speakers
they do appear in Google Home showing what is playing and I can even change the song from Google Home . They also show in Spotify on the same phone.
BTW YT music ( YouTube music ) is also updated to latest and it uses the premium subscription.

Hi TarunTyagi,
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the information provided. In this case, we can try the next steps to solve the situation.
First, please try to reboot the router and the Google Nest Audio speaker.
About the router, here is how:
Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power source for 2 minutes.
Ensure that the router's lights turn off completely when unplugged.
Tip: Some routers have backup battery packs, so the user needs to disconnect them as well to ensure the router is completely turned off.
After 2 minutes, plug the router back into its power source.
Once all the router lights are back on, ask the user to check if the network name is available on their mobile device or computer. Have the user check if their Google Nest or Home device now connects to their Wi-Fi.
Regarding reboot the Google Nest Audio:
Open the Google Home app.
Tap Home > All devices.
Select the speaker, then tap Settings.
At the top right, tap More >Reboot.
After finishing this, test the cast option.
Please keep me posted.
Best regards,
Jenny

Magic 🙂
This worked like a charm . My routers have UPS and they never reboot . So I unplugged all , even the speakers for few mins then got them online in an order of routers first (mesh) and then the speakers (the pair) .
and they now appear in Yt music cast option.
Thanks ;), I’ve taken a note of the fix if it happens again .
Appreciate your help
Regards
Tarun
