Nest thermostat in Google Home hub

I have a nest thermostat that doesn't seem to get along with a nest hub. I have two other hubs in my house and they will respond and change the thermostat at voice prompt but one of them does not and it's a Gen 2 I don't understand what am I missing?

Hi there,

Kindly check this: open the Google Home app > Devices tab. Can you see the “Master bedroom display” in a room, or under Other cast/Local devices?

  • If under a room, tap on it > Settings > Remove device > Remove. It will go to Other cast/Local devices, so follow the below steps.
  • If under Other cast/Local devices, tap on it > Add to a room.
  • Command your Master bedroom display to “Sync my devices”.
  • Check if you can now control the Nest Thermostat.

Best,
Alex

Hi coffii_howz,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out. A few questions: can you see this Google Nest Hub 2nd gen within a room in the same home as your other Google Nest Hub devices and Nest Thermostat? Is the Nest Thermostat showing on Google Nest Hub 2nd gen’s screen under Home control? If yes, can it be controlled there? What is the verbal response you are getting from Google Assistant whenever you command it to control the Nest Thermostat?

I’ll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Alex

Thanks for responding. The hub in question is in our master bedroom, we have a next max in the kitchen adjacent and it doesn't have any issues. We have a third in the basement also no issues. The verbal response is "your google nest thermostat isn't responding try resetting it up". I can do verbal settings from the Max in the kitchen without issue.
