Nest will not factory reset. Tried EVERY suggested method.

I'll try again. I have an original Nest  speaker. I changed my broadband supplier, so had to tell the Nest. The Home App insisted that the nest factory reset. Could not. I tried pressing all sorts of places on the nest; turning on/off 11 times. Nothing works. It seems I will have to dump this one and buy another - all because I changed Broedband!!!!!!

Yeah, Google Nest does not make it easy to change Wi-Fi settings. That's why their first recommendation when getting a new router/modem is to set the network name (SSID) and password on the new router/modem to the same values used on the old router/modem.

Did you press and hold the factory reset button located below the power cable for about 5 seconds until the device started the factory reset process, holding for about 10 seconds more until a sound confirmed the device was resetting?

Many thanks. I tried the 'factory reset', but couldn't find any indented  ring to press; tried power on/off 10 times/ tried a few other things suggested from Search. Nothing worked. I see your point about changing SSID and Password - but I can't remember the old SSID!  I am changing broadband supplier, every other device in the house is fine (including a Chromecast!) so it  appears the days of 'Hey Google' are over for the moment.

Come to think of it, I would prefer the Google box to work properly, than for Google to be awarding me silly medals!
