Nest won't add to shopping list

When I add items to the shopping list via "Hey Google, add (item) to the shopping list," it will be added. If a family member says the same thing, it won't let them add items to the shopping list because it doesn't "recognize" their voice. I want family members to be able to add to the shopping list. (Google will let them access my Spotify account with no problem via the Nest, but somehow the shopping list is not allowed?) What settings need to be changed?

Hi goodluck,

 

This is not the experience we want you to have; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Was it working before or is this the first attempt to have other family members add to your shopping list?

 

If your family members are already home members on your Google Home app, follow the steps for them to be added to your shopping list:

 

  1. Go to the Google Home app > Settings.
  2. Select Google Assistant.
  3. Manage all Assistant settings > Shopping list
  4. Tap the shopping list you want to share and select the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner.
  5. Select the home member’s account.

 

If they’re not a home member yet, follow the steps in this link about adding a home member and setting up voice match:
