My first generation Google Home has been working fine for years, but last week it became unresponsive. Unplugging it and plugging it back in resulted in no lights or sounds or any indication that it was powering up.
I tried the factory reset sequence of plugging/unplugging 10 times, but in lieu of waiting for lights to shine, I waited about 15 seconds after plugging it in and feeling for the area between the mute button and the rear LED to get a little warm before unplugging it and repeating. Still nothing.
I'm assuming some sort of power circuitry has failed, but I wanted to see if there were any other options for trying to recover it before writing off the most faithful, reliable, and longest lived piece of electronics in my house.
