No more games... Will be selling the Nest and getting Alexa

I've been keeping the Nest in a drawer for the last months and today, I've remembered about it and plugged it in, trying to play a game with my kids(the reason I've bought it!) only to discover that apps and games are no longer supported. This has made it useless for me, it can't even be used as a smart music player without subscriptions... Should have bought an Alexa...

I'm extremely disappointed, will be selling it for lunch money just to get rid of it.

Hi Andrei80,

Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry for this. Conversational Actions will no longer be available as of June 2023. For more information, please visit our announcement page.

Things that you could do with phrases like “Talk to…,” for games, stories, and education, will no longer be available. You may notice this change across many of the devices you use Assistant with such as speakers, smart displays, and mobile phones.

Many popular Assistant experience won’t be affected by this change, such as:

  • Answering questions
  • Playing music and videos
  • Calling
  • Timers
  • Smart home control
  • Launching and controlling Android apps

Beginning in mid-May 2023, Assistant will let you know when you try to use a Conversational Action that’s no longer available.

We appreciate your understanding on this. Feel free to respond if you have additional questions and we'd be happy to answer it for you.

Best,

Princess

Hello! I've read about it, as I've said. Very disappointed. Anyway bought a Dot 5, it's wonderful. Selling the 6 months old nest for half the price, maybe somebody will be "smart"enough to buy it.

Hi there,

I totally understand that these are good features to use with your Google Nest Mini, but they are no longer available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. Let us know if you have other questions and concerns.

Sincerely,
Alex

I know I won't swerve a huge company. I also use the last Googled Huawei and intend to do so for a while longer. It's just a rant, can't really do more. I am pissed about my Nest. Also my Huawei.
