No weather whatsoever

Tapping on or command to tell the weather gives a response "according to wikepedia" or prompts the response "I dont understand"

Reinstalled google home, but to no avail.

 

I'm in Portugal and some months ago the weather worked fine.

It's a problem with location, Google sdimply stopped to extract my current position, this is, the home in Google Home devices. If I set a routine like "When I say «How's the weather» and then manually write a command like «How is the weather in [City/Town] [Country]» it will work. So, it's not a problem with my current location, it is a problem of Google retrieving it, albeit, adress is well registered in home settings.

 

If I say, eg, "Ok Google, how is the weather in London", it works, the frustrating problem is, we live in Portugal, and since I cannot speak in portuguese, I have to say the command in english, but then google can't correctly spell portugueses names correctly while in english, so it will fail. Only some english translated terms like "Lisbon" instead of "Lisboa" will work, leaving 99% of the country nearly impossible to ask the weather by voice.

 

I could writte a routine, but again, the inconvenience is huge, as I would have to wrtitte different routines, depending on the variables, eg, the weather today, the weather this afternoon, will it rain, the weather forecast, or for a specific day, etc. Next, for these set of variables, I'd have to writte grammar and spelling based routines variations', like the difference between contracted and uncontracted forms, eg, "what is" vs "whats", etc.

 

The pinacle of frustration is: A few months ago, everything worked just fine, in english.

My apologies for the late response. I know how challenging it is when there's something wrong with your Google Home device. Please note that we can only guarantee the full functionalities of your Google Home device in those countries where it was officially released and supported like US, UK, AU, and many more. Since you're able to isolate the issue, the next thing to do is to try resetting your device to refresh all the settings.

 

If it's still the same, I suggest that you send a feedback on your device with a brief description of the issue. We know this is not the best answer that you're looking for, but we're always looking for ways to improve and bring the Google Home devices to additional countries like Portugal.
