Not playing playlists Apple Music correctly

Crme

On Apple Music if I shuffle playlist it only shuffles between the first 30ish songs in the playlist. Saw it’s been asked on here before but never truly fixed or resolved.

Hi @Crme,

I'll escalate this over to our support team as they may know more about this issue.

Does this happen on all playlists you have or just certain ones?

What region are you located?

You may want to reinstall the music app on your phone and see if that helps at all. Make sure you are on the latest software version that Apple has released as well.

It’s done it on all playlists I’ve tried, I’m in Canada and I’m fully updated on everything thanks you.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the help here, @JillG.

@Crme, let’s get this sorted out. A few questions: Have you noticed how many songs were repeated in the playlist? What are the troubleshooting steps you’ve tried? Does Google Assistant on your phone exhibit the same behavior when asked to play your playlist?

I’ll look forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Alex

I’d say about 50ish songs and I tried both shuffling and not shuffling multiple playlists with making no difference. Only troubleshooting I did was post here, make sure everything’s updated and try different playlists.

Hello Crme,

Got it. Let’s try to do some troubleshooting steps. You may already have done some steps, but let’s give it another try.

  1. Open the Google Home app > Tap Settings > Music > Choose “No default provider” > Unlink Apple music.
  2. Go to Devices tab > Tap your Google Home speaker > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app and the Google Assistant app.
  4. Log in to the Google Home app.
  5. Back to the Devices tab, scroll down to Local devices > Tap your Google Home speaker > Add to a room. Follow the prompts in adding it back.
  6. Link your Apple music account.
  7. If the behavior persists, factory reset your Google Home speaker.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex
