Not showing my photos

Help, please! For years, my Google nest hub max display showed my personal photographs. Without the settings, being changed, it started showing just a gray screen or getting stuck on one photo. If I unplug it and replug it, often it will work for a while properly. I have set it back to factory settings and made sure all the settings were correct to ensure it would show my personal photos. Despite these actions, today it started showing an art gallery. I have Internet connection as the device otherwise works.

This is happening to me as well and multiple others have commented on a separate reddit thread.  When attempting to select google photos album the Home app says "Couldn't load album, try again later". This is a widespread issue for owners of the Nest hub and I am seeing it across all of my devices.

in settings for this device, I chose what’s listed below:

Choose what you see on your screen when it's not in use

Google Photos

A slideshow of selected memories will be created

We also have another device that on occasion does not show the photos properly. I’ve not made any changes to settings, and the display I wrote about within the last hour is now showing my photos. I never know what I’m going to see when I look at my displays. Google! Please do better! Please fix this glitch.

Yes after reading your post it works again for me after manually selecting the google photos album again. Thanks for starting this thread!

I recently purchased this to replace Alex and my digital photo frame. Photos were showing as a slideshow on my home nest hub just fine for few days, and then they stopped displaying and art is displayed. I' have tried everything I can find on the internet and nothing has worked. Setting say that Google Photos is selected and an album is highlighted but only art or a clock will display. When I ask for my google photos, I'm told I have "no relevant photos in my google photo gallery ".  One fix I found was to turn on Ambient mode.  I can't find it anywhere.  No where in settings. I'm ready to toss it in the garbage and go back to Alexa.

Hi robcoster,

I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. Ambient EQ adapts the display brightness and color temperature to match the surrounding environment, so that your display resembles a physical photo. Swipe your finger up from the bottom of the display and tap the sun icon, then adjust the setting.

You can also refresh your devices and observe if it makes a difference. First, reboot your Wi-Fi router, and once the network is back up, do the same thing to your Google Nest Hub Max.

Regards,

Juni
