One or more devices are not available

I see this has been asked before but I don't see an answer that will help.

When I ask Google Home to tell me how much time is left on the dryer I get "one or more devices are not available,  you might want to try setting them up again" on all devices (home, max) and this use to work for me. This happens with a few things in the house. I know sometimes it is because it can't figure out my voice, which I have redone way too many time. Here is the catch, it works fine for my husband. So I know the device is set up correct but I am assuming I do not have the right permissions but I have looked everywhere for them. My husband said he made me an admin but that doesn't seem to help.  

I just tried to turn on a light and I got that answer and I asked if it knew who I was and it told me my name. Can someone please let me know where these permission or set parts are.

I'm sorry to hear that your Google Home Speaker and Google Nest Hub Max are having trouble recognizing your voice and executing commands like checking the dryer time or controlling lights, especially when they work fine for your husband. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Could you provide the exact model of your Google Home Speaker? Here's an article that might help you identify it: Google Nest speakers and displays.
  • In the Google Home app, for each of your Google Home devices, can you confirm that "Personal results" are turned on for your specific Google account?
  • Have you tried rebooting your Google Home devices (unplugging them for 30 seconds and plugging them back in)?
  • Have you tried unlinking and relinking any devices that aren't responding in your Google Home app?
  • Could you provide me with the firmware version of your Google Home devices? Here's an article that will help you check: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes.

Because of physical restraints at this time I can't not tell you the models but I can tell you the firmware. I did test it on my phone and it does work on there. It isn't the voice problem, that was another problem I was mentioning. I will do a who am I before I do the other command to make sure it knows it is me. I am pretty sure it is a permission problem because some things work. My husband says I am an admin but I can not find the permissions for these things to check.
