I can’t create a group with my existing chromecast and my newly nest audio. The error message above is coming up

Just typical Google device -behaviour.
Device not working properly and the software is nagging with some pre-production error code, which does not give any information at all.
You can propably bypass this error by factory resetting everthing and then re-installing everything.
Most likely after this, your setup will work a while, but propably it still will stop working after a day or so.

Hey there Dennis79,
I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you still running into that Speaker Group issue with your Chromecast and Nest Audio? If so, I'd be happy to look into it! I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hi, Jeran--
I'm not the OP but I am having similar issues:
I have many Google Home devices and I used to have a speaker group called "Main Speakers" that consisted of a 1st Gen Google Home, a Google Home Max and a JBL Link speaker. One day, it just stopped working properly. I couldn't play any music to it ("Hmmm... Something went wrong" message), so I deleted the group and recreated it with the same name. After that, when I would ask Google to play something "on Main Speakers", it would respond "you can play that on Main Speakers or Main Speakers-- which would you like?" Clearly the deletion of the initial speaker group had failed. Since I didn't want to go through the extra question each time, I tried deleting the 2nd "Main Speakers" group and creating a new group with the same speakers, called "Default Speakers". No matter what I did, I couldn't get the JBL speaker to join the group. The Google Home app would give me a "com.google.CastFramework.SetupLib.CastSetupError 0"message. So I deleted the "Default Speakers" group and created a new group called "Mains" with the same speakers. Same story-- can't get the JBL speaker to join-- same error message.
To compound this, none of the old groups have actually been deleted. If I ask the app to play something on any of the old supposedly-deleted groups, it will try (as though that group still exists) and fail.
Any idea what's going on here? Seems like simple database corruption to me.
Thanks!

Hey there MEast,
Regarding that JBL speaker having issues joining the speaker group, there were updates to speaker groups in January that may have affected it. Speaker groups containing non-Google speakers or Cast-based devices may not work properly in speaker groups if they don’t receive a software update. You may notice that those devices don’t play audio in a speaker group. Third-party Cast devices like soundbars with Chromecast built-in will need to be updated to Cast firmware 1.52.272222 and above. Note: Not all device models will receive software updates. As a result, they may no longer work in speaker groups and will need the Device Utility app to complete each setup.
As for deletion of the old speaker group failing, I would recommend that you clear out the cached data on the Google Home app. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then I would uninstall then re-install the app.
Let me know if the helps! Also, if you had any other questions or concerns, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran
