I want to play the audio from my mini onto a louder Bluetooth speaker via bluetooth. Google searches say this is simple but when I go to Google home app and select my mini there no options to connect to a Bluetooth speaker.
I've tried adding the speaker in home first (via add device / speaker) but it's not there. Help??

Hi @evocraig, what are the links to those Google searches? Nest speakers are natively incoming devices and do not connect to other speakers or act as a source to send output to another device.
It'll be interesting to see those links, please post them here. Thanks.

I think I misunderstood your question -- here is how you can connect a Bluetooth speaker. My reading of your post was you wanted to connect Nest output to a louder speaker where the Nest was the source. But what I think you might want to do is have the sound come out of both speakers, which you can do by following the instructions above.

I want to send the audio from my Google mini and listen to it via bluetooth on a standard Bluetooth only speaker. Can this be done?
Thanks.

OK, so I didn't misunderstand. No, there is no way for you to Bluetooth out FROM the Nest to link it to another speaker so that it can serve as a source for content. Following the link I gave you if your speaker is able to be linked via the Home app and discoverable you can play the music from both which accomplishes the same thing.

No problem. Keep in mind that while the Bluetooth speaker may have a higher volume level, content via Bluetooth tends to be double compressed and lower quality than content streamed over WiFi. As such, there may be a delay from the Bluetooth speaker when used in conjunction with the Nest speaker which can be really annoying.
Give a shout if you have other questions.
