Play music through connected speaker but have audio responses through hub speaker

I want to have my hub play music through the connected Bluetooth speaker but I want audio responses to questions I ask my Google hub to be played through the hub speakers. I think this used to work for me by default but it doesn’t seem to anymore. All audio plays through my connected Bluetooth speaker now instead. Is it possible to do what I want? If so, how? I’ve done a factory reset and it didn’t help with my issue.
