Playing music on Google nest groups

Gorfette85

When I go to the Google Home app and click on a group I've created to play music, it just opens a menu with settings with the option to delete the group. It does not start playing music on that group as it used to. There is not a clear option to play music on this group either. When I try to use a voice command to play on a group it does not understand me. Please can anyone help?

Hey Gorfette85,

Thanks for reaching out.

We have an update that, customers will no longer see the group controller in the Google Home app. You will still be able to see speaker groups but clicking on a speaker group in the home view will take you to the group settings.

Give these steps a try if you can't play music on your speaker group using voice command:

  • Reboot your devices.
  • Try deleting your old group and create a new one.
  • Once, done, use the command “Hey Google , Play music on <group name>”

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Alex
