Please log in through the Google home app

I get this message every new day. "Please log in through the Google home app". Then I go to the Google Home app and see the nest mini there (2nd generation) as a Linked device not as a Family room device. I go through the set up and it starts working. And then it repeats the next day. I did factory reset two times. The isssue is not solved. It is the most buggy product that I have ever seen. Shame on Google for issuing that device. I would like to get issue solved, a replacement or money back.

I'll be really happy to assist you with your situation, but first, I'd like to clarify some points with you:

 

  • Are you using your Nest Mini (2nd generation) on the Nest App or another different app instead of the Google Home App?
  • Does the message come from that app?
  • When you say "family room device", that means that you have connected your device to your Gmail, which is part of "Google Families",  but the other accounts don't have access to see the device in their app.

 

Knowing this information will allow me to provide you with the steps that may solve this.
