Prevent assistant from replying via my cell phone when standing beside Google home?

Hi,

Please note: my Google home mini is 2nd or 3rd gen, but 1st gen was the only version offered as a product option.

Please also note: I've already read through a now locked post about how to prioritize devices by increasing or decreasing their "OK Google" sensitivity, but I want to stop Assistant from replying via my cell phone, when I'm sitting right beside my Google home.

And unlike other devices, there are no device cards and/or Assistant sensitivity sound settings for my cell in the Google Home app.

Is there a way (other than locking my phone screen, shutting it down, leaving in another room, etc...) to make Assistant respond via Google Home instead of the cell?

This came up as an issue when I was trying to set an alarm for a specific room, and Assistant kept setting alarms on my phone instead.

Any help with this would be much appreciated

If you’re near your Google Home device and phone, only Google Home should respond to "Hey Google."

Try these steps:

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if the update will fix the issue yet, but I did indeed need an update. So, definitely a step in the right direction.
