Radio App suddenly not working

Hi, I am located in south eastern Victoria, Australia.

I suffered the sudden Radio App not playing on both my Google nest hub speakers as many others have posted about. I have not seen a fix for this issue so I tried a few different things until I was successful. I tried rebooting the modem, nest hubs, iPhone and iPad for over 3 minutes but still the issue remained.

I decided to have a look at the devices on my Google Home app and noticed in my notifications that all devices had been removed from my home at exactly the same time a few days earlier at 3:41am. I also noticed that the Hubs were continually trying to load in the Home App as well.

I then reallocated each device back into its respective room within my Home App as they had somehow been removed, I can only assume an update during the middle of the night. Once complete and hubs were in their rooms within my Home, the issue was fixed and my Hubs are now both connecting to the Radio App as normal.

I hope this is a fix for others too 😊

Hi Sean14,

That's fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experience and the fix you found for your Google Nest Hubs not playing radio. This will definitely be helpful for others in southeastern Victoria, Australia who might be facing the same issue.

Here's a summary of your solution:

  1. The Problem: The Radio App wasn't working on your Google Nest Hubs, similar to what others have reported.
  2. Checking the Google Home App: You noticed in the notifications that all your devices were removed from your Google Home at 3:41 AM. The hubs were also continually trying to load in the app.
  3. The Fix: You re-added each device back to its designated room within the Google Home app.
  4. Success: After reassigning the devices to their rooms, the Radio App started working again on both Nest Hubs.

This suggests that a recent update might have caused the devices to become unlinked from your Google Home. By manually re-adding them, you were able to re-establish the connection and fix the radio playback issue.

I would recommend others experiencing this problem in your area to try your solution and see if it resolves the issue with their Google Nest Hubs as well.

Regards,

Ivan
