Reminders are counter-intuitive

I am trying to use a Nest Mini to remind my visually and cognitively impaired mother to take her medicines.

At the specified time it plays a chime, then says, "I have a reminder for <Mom's name>".

She intuitively replies, "Ok Google, what is my reminder?"

It then reads off a list of upcoming reminders. If a minute or more has passed since the chime, it doesn't even read the current reminder that triggered it!

I'm aware that the solution is to instead say, "OK Google, what are my notifications"

There is no way my mother is going to remember that.

This behavior is worse than useless, it's dangerous, and Google Home cannot be relied upon for any important reminders until it is fixed.

So I just discovered Family Bells, which seem to actually do what I wanted Reminders to do in the first place.

Reminders continue to be useless, but Family Bells turned out to be exactly what I was looking for: it reads off the announcement at the scheduled time, and doesn't require any interaction to do so.

Hi Daemon,

Thanks for the response and sorry that you are still experiencing the issue. Can we try to temporarily change your Assistant Language to EN US then reboot your Nest Mini then try to set a reminder again and see how it goes.

Reminders just don't work, and I've no interest in using them.
