No. Please see the other 4 threads I linked, where people tried this and other troubleshooting.Reminders just don't work, and I've no interest in using them.

Reminders continue to be useless, but Family Bells turned out to be exactly what I was looking for: it reads off the announcement at the scheduled time, and doesn't require any interaction to do so.

So I just discovered Family Bells, which seem to actually do what I wanted Reminders to do in the first place.
