Remotely playing music to google home no longer available.

Hey all,

I used to be able to cast/play music from Spotify while not at home (from a cellular network for example) to my Google speakers but this feature seems to have gone.

If I'm on the same local network the feature works fine.

Any ideas?

Thank you for posting in the community. I apologize that you're unable to cast Spotify from your phone to your speaker remotely. I'm happy to help.

To better assist you, please provide the following information:

• Which Google Nest speaker do you have?
• Are you experiencing the same issue when casting from other apps?
• When did you first notice this inconvenience?

To troubleshoot, I recommend unlinking and re-linking your devices from Spotify. You can find instructions in this article: Link your music services and set your default service.

If after that your speaker is still not working, try to reboot your speaker.

If the problem continues after rebooting, you may need to perform a factory reset on the Google Nest speaker.

I don't know of another app that allows remote playing / casting.

When did you first notice this inconvenience?

Probably a month or longer

I have tried to unlink and relink also tried to uninstall Spotify still doesn't work.

I have rebooted and factory reset the nest device still doesn't work
