Routines not working on Nest Hub

Well, this appears to have come up before but everyone's threads get locked after being given a link.

I have a new Nest Hub that is connected to my phone. Calendar, list, audio all works well.

The routines do not. Not the pre loaded ones, not custom ones. They are all clear and work on my phone but not on the Nest. I try to trigger the factory bedtime routine, I just get told google will give me overnight facts about horticulture.

I have done factory resets, removed the hub from my home app and re added it, restarted the nest. I have confirmed the routines are all set, I can't delete the ones that are already there obviously.

Come on Google. Why are so many of us having the same problem? Has anyone been able to get this fixed?

For anyone else who might have this occur - I found a solution. Rebooting the nest hub did nothing, until I removed all the other devices from my Home App leaving it as the only one. Once that happened, the routines started working, and I could add the other devices back on.

How routines work depend on where you live and what language you speak. They also work certain ways depending on how many people are in your house, and if voice/face match are turned on. I have found that for the best results, turn voice match on.

I have also found that turning "hey google" voice activation on our phones off makes everything work better.

Now, with those criteria, the stock routines can only be activated by the person who set them up. This way everone can have their own Goog Night/ Good Morning routines. They don't do anything until they are setup, straight out of the box, they are just place holders for reserved commands (good night, good mornig, etc...).

Custome routines can be run by anyone. You cannot use reserved commands to trigger your custom routines.

If you are having a problem with a routine that you have setup, it would be helpful to know the speifics of what you have setup. Trigger command, what it is set to do, your country, spoken language, result of saying command.

Alright, I've worked through these line by line.

- Hey google activation is turned off on my phone, it already was

- Voice match was already on.

- Language is English (UK).

Examples:

'Good morning' - triggers stock good morning routine. Does not include my customisations (added music and to do list)

'Good night' - does not trigger stock bedtime routine to set the alarm and play relaxing music or any customisations (read tomorrow's calendar). Nest Hub only responds with goodnight and reminding me it will be available to discuss horticulture overnight.

'Let's wind down' (custom routine designed to replace good night routine that doesn't work) - does not trigger custom routine. Gives me a dictionary definition of wind down.

Routines work on my Google Home Mini and my Pixel Buds. Only the Nest Hub is failing to play them. Later today I'm going to try just rebooting absolutely everything on the network and see if it makes a difference.

That really sounds like the Hub is not connected to you or your house.

I know! Except... it is. It's on the Home App, and all my other services - calendars, lists, streaming - are all linked. Only the routines aren't working. So perplexing.
