I have already made a factory reset 2 or 3 times, each time it seemed to have fixed the problem but a few days later the problem was back again...
I believe that the problem does not come from the device but comes from the service (youtube/youtube music) !

Google can't be bothered to assist, this has been going on for months now. It's beginning to feel intentional.
I'll soon cancel YouTube premium and re-institute pihole. I'm unwilling to pay for incompetence.

1 thing in common with all the comments is everyone uses YT music. That’s where the problems originates. Change providers like I did, (recommended by Google support) & you will not have repeats anymore😊
10-17-2023 03:39 PM
Google literally owns YouTube music… that’s so counterintuitive
10-18-2023 10:31 AM
YouTube is what people use... Google is said to work with YouTube and had done so for years. If they are no longer able to operate with the app, it should be announced so those that do you Google can start purchasing better devices from Googles Competitors...

The same songs are continuously repeated and I have a YouTube music subscription. I have 8 Google mini speakers and this is absolutely ridiculous. I just went around the house and unplugged every single one and may sell them on eBay and just go with Alexa now because this is absolutely garbage for this to happen

Same issue... doesn't matter how I tell Google to play music, even by saying "play music without repeats" she plays a song and repeats a song. Sometimes she plays country like lambert and tippin on repeat, or she plays queen on repeat or the Wellerman. I noticed this happened over the summer when Google started playing a lot of R&B and Rap... I told her "never play this song again"... I think in Google's twisted little mind she got ticked off and said screw it, you don't like rap, I will plague you with a forever loop of music repeats. This needs to be fixed yesterday google.. or you will loose a lot of customers. My whole family has Google products. We work for clients with Alexa... omg... Alexa is awesome in comparison! DO BETTER!

To everyone asking about updates, I don't work for Google or have any inside knowledge but I do work in technology delivery so I can give some context. Timelines often go something like this:
1. Item/issue gets picked up and passed to a product owner. Initial triage is done and product owner decides how important the item is compared to other items in the pipeline. I'd assume this would be high importance given the customer impact. Timeframe 1-2 weeks.
2. Issue gets impact assesment by Business Analyst (BA) to uncover all the work needed to fix the issue and any dependencies. If there are no big blockers then the item goes into sprint planning. Process often takes 1-2 months, however as there could be an external dependency between the Nest team and the Youtube Music team here this might lengthen the time it takes to plan or line up the delivery items on both sides.
3. Delelopers work on the items, needed to fix the issue, then it's released into test environments and testing is done. 1-4 weeks depending on complexity.
4. Update is released in love environment. Depending on how the release schedule works this could be done at the end of step 3, or there might be set release schedules and the devs have to wait for that to roll around. Timeframe (0 days - 3 months).
In summary, I'd be surprised if this took more than a quarter to be fix, and I'd imagine Google would be fairly efficient at tech and be able to do it in 6-8 weeks. It's been 2 weeks since the issue was picked up so I reckon we'll be waiting about another month. Hopefully that gives you all some context, I know it's a pain especially as paying customers, but we often take for granted how complicated stuff like this is and it's not easy to fix.
For now, cast from phones, or ask for whole albums to be played as workarounds. And from me; have a bloody great day!

Thank you, what number can we call for discounted services until this is fixed? We are already overpaying for services via YouTube
10-18-2023 01:07 PM
I don't work for Google, so I can't answer this. I just wanted to give context to everyone from someone within software development industry.

It has been weeks since I had commented with this issue and I’ve noticed the last week or two I have NOT had the problem any more! I have had updates to the apps (on my phone) - both YouTube music & Google Home. For this issue maybe the fix came from the update to the apps!
Thank you for the support & fix, it’s been great not hearing the repeating songs!!
10-21-2023 06:15 AM
I just tried it's still not working and all my apps and phone are updated.
10-20-2023 01:14 PM
Yes, the same thing is happening to me! I will say to play a certain artist and it'll repeat the same 3 songs from that artist. Another thing is that I have a long playlist with about 150 songs on it. If I ask Google to play that playlist on shuffle, it'll play the same 3-4 songs on repeat and sometimes eventually say the playlist is done. PLEASE do something to fix this issue, Google. I'm guessing it's an issue with an update.
10-21-2023 05:16 AM
Still having this same problem. For me it has been 2 months. I am very close to giving up on all my Google products and making the switch to Amazon.
10-21-2023 06:16 AM
This is continually happening. I will tell it to skip or play next song and it plays the same 4 or 5 songs over and over again.
10-21-2023 06:19 AM
This started for me the last week of July & earlier this month it stopped being so frequent. It's back again & more annoying than before. It also won't stop playing music on command at times. Have to hit pause & just let it figure it out. Nest Hub Seriously considering Spotify.

I just canceled my Youtube Premium membership. I don't even watch enough YouTube videos to justify it. The main thing I use is for constant streaming of music. I'm done with YouTube music; I just resubscribed to Spotify. I am already happy with the algorithm they have for discovering new music.
10-21-2023 10:03 PM
Same issue here! I request a song on YouTube music, but after 3 or 4 tunes, the same two songs keep repeating. It's really frustrating. Started happening about 2 months ago.
10-22-2023 12:02 AM
Been happening for about 2 months also. ( google home and YT subscription)
have some success after turning it off and in but eventually starts happening again.
Understand that things break from time to time but generally the service is getting worse and worse. Have been forced away from anylist, googles ability to understand asic commands seems to be getting worse and constantly forgets who I am.
10-22-2023 03:47 AM
I gave up and switched to Spotify. It’s working as it used to.
10-22-2023 02:11 PM
Same here. Really annoying and very idiotic answers from Google. Just fix thé **bleep** issue.
10-23-2023 05:47 AM
I have the same problem, been going on for a couple of months at least and also my mini makes a crackling sound every now and again, like an old record player. The repeating songs are so darn annoying, I have a YT premium music subscription. Surely with this many people experiencing issues there should be someone actually doing something about it?
10-23-2023 07:27 AM
Same thing happening here, just this morning i asked it to play a song, it played a few more from similar genre then started playing the same Depeche mode song and tears for fears song over and over. My kids were cracking up at how angry i was getting then we just went with it.
10-24-2023 12:32 PM
Hi! Also my Google nest hub 2 is playing all the time the same three or four songs. I use YouTube music.
Please, fix this issue because the best is becoming useless.
10-24-2023 01:48 PM
Totally agree. That is a feature I use multiple times a day. It is a CORE feature of any speaker or display. Now it's been pointless for months!!! If you can't handle this simple feature, good luck with AI.
10-25-2023 11:43 AM
Ok, same issue here since few weeks : Google Home Mini (gen 1)
Firmware : 375114
Firmware cast : 2.57.375114
YouTube Music Premium account.
Please do something. Google devices are getting worse and worse...
10-25-2023 04:29 PM
I am having the same issue. It started a month or two ago and it is driving me crazy. I have the google nest and the google home. one in bathroom one in kitchen
10-26-2023 06:58 AM
This is REALLLLLLY starting to piss me off. I'm about ready to cancel my YouTube music subscription.
10-26-2023 05:45 PM
+1 on this happening on my nest speakers. Not an issue with yt music on the phone
10-27-2023 05:17 AM
Friday 27th October - UK. Still experiencing this issue. Extremely frustrating. Any update please Google? We pay enough for the service!
10-27-2023 09:44 AM
I too in the UK have this issue with my Nest Audio speaker.
It's not like this is a new issue how about fixing it Google!
10-27-2023 10:44 AM
So I updated Google Home and YouTube.. and for nearly 45 mins, it played DIFFERENT songs, with no repeats. Then I requested something specific, and it immediately reverted. I tried restarting without a specific choice, but it just continued to repeat the same 2-3 songs.

OMG I have yelled for Google to just stop playing the music because of how annoying this issue is! Who wants to hear the same 3 songs OVER and OVER!
10-28-2023 10:12 AM
I just did this today.
10-27-2023 11:17 AM
Same issue here for the past couple of months. Still no solution. Sometimes it gets so bad that it will cycle between just two songs over and over. Most of the time it sticks to about 5, which is still useless. Very frustrating.
10-28-2023 06:02 AM
Please report to YouTube help desk, apparently it’s the only way to inform an engineer or flag this issue is here. You would think they would be monitoring forums :

I've noticed this too as late. Also using YouTube music.
