Security cam stream to Chromecast keeps timing out

I have a chromecast setup that I would like to have a livestream of my nest cameras shown on an ongoing basis. When I ask google to “show [cam name] on [chromcast TV name]” it works great for about 5 minutes then shuts off. Anyway to fix that?

Sorry for the late response. I know how important it is for you to be able to continuously stream your Nest cameras on your Chromecast device. Let's get this sorted out.

 

A few questions:

 

  • When did the issue start?
  • What type of Nest Camera do you have (battery-powered or wired)?
  • How far are your devices from the router?

 

Please note that live video from battery-powered Nest cameras and doorbells stops after five minutes, while live video from wired Nest cameras and doorbells stops after 12 hours.
