Set an alarm isn't working

I asked, "hey Google... Set an alarm for 5pm." It responded, "I'm sorry, I'd didn't understand." I asked Google, " repeat my last question", to which it confirmed I asked it to set an alarm for 5pm. This started about a month ago and I've been getting around it by asking it to set timers each day, but my work schedule changed and I need to set new alarms and I can't. I have rebooted it, unplugged it, cleared cache, Turning on and off voice recognition, etc. I'm at my wits end.

I have several models and none of them are working. The one in front of me is an insignia model ns-cspgasp. I don't think it matters as it appears to be a program issue.

Googles replay, "Sorry, I don't understand."

Hello @superstarr715,

Thanks for posting in that community space.

I am sorry to hear that you have some issues with your alarm when you use the voice command. I will be more than happy to help you and resolve this issue for you.

Before I start, I just want to ask you a few questions for better understanding and to provide you with a good resolution.

  • May I know what the model of the Google device is that you have?
  • Did anything change around the time this issue appeared? (Change WiFi, move the device.)

Thanks for your attention, I will be waiting for your answer.

Yours truly,

Jeremy

I mentioned the model in my original post, it is insignia model ns-cspgasp.

The only thing I can think of that changed recently was maybe the app updated on my phone.

Hello @superstarr715,

Thank you for your prompt response and the detailed information you’ve provided.

I've reviewed your input and understand that the speaker you're referring to is a third-party device. As such, its troubleshooting options may be more limited compared to Google-manufactured products.

To assist you further, please try the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Unplug your devices.
  • Plug them back in.
  • Reboot your Wi-Fi router.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please consider unlinking and re-linking your device. You can find detailed instructions on this process in our article, Connect third-party smart home devices in the Google Home app.

Thanks for your attention. I will be waiting for your answer.

Thanks

Jeremy.
