Hello Pegahp,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble setting up your Google Nest speaker. Could you tell us if you're using a regular Gmail account in linking your devices? Also, have you tried to use a different phone to see if you will also experience the same error message?

Here's what you need:

What you need to get started

  • A speaker or display.
  • Latest version of the Google Home app.
  • Latest version of the Google app.
  • A Google Account.
  • A mobile phone or tablet that:
    • Has Android 9.0 or later.
    • Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
    • Has Bluetooth turned on.
  • An Internet connection and secure wireless network.
  • If you already use Duo for video calling, make sure that you use the same Google Account in Duo and in the Google Home app.

Get started

  1. Plug in your speaker or display.
  2. On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app Google Home app.
    1. If you haven't set up a home, tap Create home enter a nickname for your home enter an address (optional) tap Next.
    2. Tap the name of your home Next.
  3. Tap Devices Add New Device .
  4. Follow the in-app steps. Note: You can opt out of some settings, like Voice Match or personal results. You can also change your device settings at any time after you complete setup.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess
