Setting up A Google Nest Mini

Thenycguy
Community Member

I have a Google home assistant already. It runs off the Wi-Fi for my apartment. I have purchased a Google Nest Mini to run in another room, but on the same Wi-Fi. I get stuck in the setup when it asked me for which wi-fi and the password. It tells me it cannot connect. I must have attempted this 10 times today. I have tried it with a 5G Network and the 2G network. What must I do in order to make this a smooth set up for another room in the apartment? Any roll suggestions would be welcomed

Hey Thenycguy,

Thanks for posting, and apologies for the delayed response. I know how it feels when you can't connect your Google Nest Mini to your network. A few questions - is this a first time setup or the device has been connected to the same network before? What type of network connection do you have? (Public or Private network) What message are you getting when you try to connect your device to your network?

Below are additional steps that you can try:

  1. Reboot your Google Nest Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
  2. Turn WiFi on and off on the mobile setup device.
  3. Reset your Nest Mini, then try to setup again.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
