Setting up google home device

I'm trying to set up google home, everything says its connected, but when I ask google a question it says its connected to wifi. Have rebooted router, turned off hey Google, but still no joy. Any help much appreciated

Thanks for reaching out — let's see what's going on. 

 

To confirm, are you using a private network? If so, do you have a dual-band router? Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router.

 

  • Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled). 
  • Reboot router again. 
  • If you're using an iOS device, turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app 
  • Reset your Google Home to its default settings.
  • Try using a mobile hotspot to set up your devices (To isolate the issue).
