Share photos from Nesthub to Family member (google photos account) vs email

I love the pictures I get on my Google Nest (much better than just regular google photos), but when I go to share to my family members the ONLY options that show up are "emailing" a photo.

I would prefer to just be able to share from my google photos account to my family members google photos accounts (that way the picture is already in their photos acct).

If I share photos directly from Google photos - it defaults to sharing directly to my family members google photos, which is what I want to do on the nest.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi catcomputers,

Apologies for the delay!

This is not the experience we want you to have; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Is it a Nest Hub or Nest Hub (2nd Gen)? When did your issue begin? Were you able to share before? What country are you located in?

Let’s try the steps involving your Google Photos app:

  1. Open Google Photos
  2. Create a shared album
  3. Once created, make sure it’s the album that you choose on your Google Home app
  4. Also, refer to this helpful guide for more information: Photo Frame on your Google Nest display.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan

I can share (sometimes).. but not a direct share to other family members Google photos, only via email.

I would prefer to be able to share directly to their Google photos so the shared photos stay as part of their photos acct.  Is there a way we can do that.

Not sure why, but just general photo sharing seems to only work like 80% of the time.  The rest of the time, instead of actually sharing the photo on the screen, it asks me to "click on the photos I want to share", which then changes the screen from the photo I was trying to share to a full list of all my pictures.

Usually, when I share from my best hub (likely a newer version gen 2), it's the randomly displayed memory photos I am sharing.

Hey there,

To share the photo with one of your Google contacts, say “Hey Google, share this photo with <contact name>” and follow the prompts. You can also share groups of photos.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Dan

No that doesn't help when I'm trying to do is share from my Google photos to my family members. Google photos accounts so that way if they open up their Google photos and there are shared photos, they will always be there.  When I share with a contact the only option it's giving me is email

Hello catcomputers,

Thanks for the additional information you’ve shared.I totally understand that this is a good feature to use with your Google Nest Hub, but it isn’t available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it. See the article below on how to do it.
