SiriusXM Stopped Streaming

ddfed
Community Member

Yesterday my SiriusXM quit streaming to all my speakers. Speakers acknowledges Google commands (eg: streaming 60s Gold from SiriusXM) then nothing. I have done ALL of the usual work arounds. Anyone else have this issue? Could not find any recent reports on this. My speakers are all Home and Nest minis.

I too SiriusXM and Geeni lights stopped working.  They both work in their individual apps on my phone.  I even tried casting  SiriusXM from my app to the speaker and get a beep, but it doesn't play.  My hub and speakers are basically glorified clocks now.

Same issue here.  Tried the same solutions, reconnect sirius, reboot phone, unplug nest for reboot.  Can hear local stations, but not Sirius.  Sirius works fine on phone.

I have the same problem.  Just started a couple of days ago.  Google says it's streaming a certain channel from Serius XM, but the screen shows only SeriusXM with a line across the screen and an arrow at the bottom with no sound.

same problem here with the google home device including the app on the iphone. any updates?

Had Sirius XM linked and playing just fine on Nest hub, and Nest mini. Had a routine set to play on specified channel. Now all of a sudden nothing works. I get various responses as to this won't work, or it sends me to Youtube Music. If I use voice to connect to Sirus SM with out specifying a channel, on display it shows connected to Sirius XM, but I get no audio??

Hi @edub09

Seeing a couple other XM related issues posted in the Community.

I will escalate over to our team.

In the meantime, try reinstalling the Google Home app and reboot your device.

Thanks!

Sirius XM recently stopped playing on my Nest.   I get a message saying it's going to play, but then nothing plays.   I have unlinked and relinked, unplugged, and replugged.

This seems to be a new issue.   Does anyone have a solution?

Sirius XM recently stopped playing on my Nest.  I get a message saying it's going to play but then nothing plays.  I've unplugged and did all the things noted in previous messages.  I moved to Next from Amazon's Alexa after dealing with the same issue.  Any suggestions?  If Nest isn't going to connect, I can just buy a speaker and use my Iphone.

I have the exact same problem.   Mine started Tuesday night after 8:30 pm

I say, "Play (channel) on SiriusXM.  Google says, "Streaming (channel) on SiriusXM" but it is not connecting.  Dead silence.  I re-linked my account.  My account is active.  The app works on my phone so I cast to the Nest.  This has been going on for 2 days now!

Mine is doing the exact same thing for the last 2 days! It's really frustrating ever since I've ordered SiriusXM, I've had problems with the Google nest. So what is going on here is it Google or is it SiriusXM. I know if I call them they're going to tell me to uninstall and reinstall the app, which I did do, but as far as I'm concerned, you shouldn't have to do that. If the product is working correctly, then it should have no issues. I am a new subscriber to SiriusXM and I might just cancel my subscription because of this. Cuz previous to this I've had other issues. Please somebody help! What is going on?

Just got the Nest (2nd Gen) yesterday, Same problem, Sirius seems to be the only problem. I can cast it from my phone, but that's not the same.

I am having the same issue for the last 2 days.

I hope somebody chimes in and helps us

To everybody that's experiencing problems connecting to sirius XM, I messaged the company and they said that they have their engineers working on the problem. So it's a problem that's coming from Sirius XM and not from Google

It seems this issue is affecting many, many people recently.  My SiriusXM stopped connecting a couple days ago and now my Geeni lights also will not respond.  We did all the troubleshooting - unplug router - unplug the hub and all mini speakers - plug router back in - replug in all devices - unlink Geeni - relink - Geeni (it says it can't) - tried playing SiriusXM from the app and then casting to a speaker (it won't).  SiriusXM works from the app as does Geeni for the lights.  This is very frustrating.  Right now, my speakers and hub and just clocks with the ability to tell me the time out loud.

2 days now same issue.  Also the same problem with the Geenie devices

Geenie resumed normal operation this morning but not XM

And all Geenie devices.  2 days now.  Geenie came back this morning

Me Too - same issue.. All our Google devices will acknowledge and agree to play the Sirius XM station. All you wind up getting is no sound no nothing.  I can *SOMETIMES* cast to my Google device using the phone Sirius XM app not a problem.

I have rebooted devices, cable modem and router. I have reinstalled our Nest Hub Max and relinked it in Home. Nothing fixed it. I have sent feedback via the device.

Hope there is a fix soon.

I have the same issue. Also with Spotify. They worked fine until yesterday. Now Google thinks it's streaming SiriusXM but I don't hear anything. If I ask it to stream on a hub so I can see what is happening, it shows the logo and shows the "play" triangle but does nothing, even if I touch the traingle.

Seems to have started working again for me within the last hour (now 11:55AM PDT) after having not since yesterday.  Pass my thanks to whomever fixed it.

As of Tuesday, April 25, Sirius XM will no longer play on both of my Google Home devices (Nest Home display and Home speaker).  As always, I say "Hey, Google, play channel [x] on Sirius XM." The devices acknowledge the command:  "Playing channel [x] on [device]."  The display screen goes to the Sirius XM screen but nothing plays. I have uninstalled the Home app from my pixel and reinstalled after rebooting.  I have tried unlinking/relinking my Sirius XM account (which work perfectly well through the Sirius XM app on my Pixel 6a).  I have factory restored both devices and set them up again.  I spent 20 minutes in a chat with Google Help before I was (accidentally?) disconnected before resolution.

This reminds me of a similar issue a few months ago when sleep timers suddenly stopped working for many of us. I assume it's related to an app or firmware update, but please, Google, resolve it.  Thanks!

SiriusXM will connect to the channel I want but will play any sound.  All other media works fine.  I see hundreds of people having the same problem which started yesterday 4/26/23. Besides a  canned response does Google have any insight to what this issue is?
