Sleep data not showing on Nest Hub (2nd gen) wellness tab - Italy region

Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with my second-generation Nest Hub. In the wellness tab, no sleep data is displayed (it’s just a black screen), even though sleep monitoring is clearly active. I can see the sleep data correctly in Google Fit, and I’ve ensured that:

  • All permissions are enabled (privacy, sharing, voice match, etc.).
  • Google Fit has access to the sleep data.
  • The device is calibrated and positioned correctly.

In some online forums, I’ve seen references to a setting called “Proactive health & fitness results.” However, this setting does not seem to exist in the Italian version of the app or device. Many of the suggested steps in those forums are also not applicable here due to different menu layouts and missing options in Italy, which makes troubleshooting even more difficult.

Has anyone in a similar situation managed to resolve this issue? Is this a regional limitation, or could it be a bug?

Thanks for your help!

Hi MatteoManzi,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that you're experiencing troubles with the sleep data not showing on your Nest Hub 2nd Gen in the wellness tab. I understand how frustrating this can be. Let's work together for a solution.

For this situation, please do the following:

  • Try to verify if the Google Home app and Nest Hub 2nd Gen are up-to-date:
  • On the Nest Hub 2nd Gen, here are the steps on how to check:
  • Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  • Tap Settings and then About Devices. You should find your "software version" and "cast firmware version."
  • Scroll to the bottom. If “Operating System Version” is also listed, this means your device runs in Fuchsia.
  • Here is the article to check the latest version table of the Nest speakers and displays.

Also, please try the following:

Check settings in the Google Home app:

  1. On a mobile device, open the Google Home app, then select the Nest Hub (2nd generation), then Settings, and then Sleep Sensing.
  2. Check that Sleep Sensing is turned on.
  3. Select Recognition & Sharing, then Recognition & Personalization, then make sure that Allow personal results are enabled and the option Always shows proactively is selected.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.

Regards,

Byron
