Sleep sensing not able to calibrate

Slipchuck
Community Member

No sleep sensing calibration option with nest.

When I go through a lot of hoops to get to the sleep sensing options on the app it tells me in order to calibration it sends me to the nest. When I hit settings on the hub it tells me to set it up on the app

The hub doesn't have a calibration option

Thanks

Hi Slipchuck,

Thanks for reaching out.

What Google Nest Hub are you using? Is it the 1st Generatio Google Nest Hub or the 2nd one? If you're using the 2nd Generation Google Nest Hub, you can follow these steps:

Set up Sleep Sensing

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap your display.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings .
  4. Tap Sleep Sensing.
  5. Tap Set up Sleep Sensing.
  6. Follow the in-app instructions to allow Sleep Sensing on your display.
  7. Tap Set a bedtime schedule.
  8. Choose what time you plan to regularly go to bed and wake up.
  9. The following features are optional and can be turned on to provide you with additional information to better track your sleep and give you educational sleep tips:
    • Set up sound events tracking
    • Personalized sleep suggestion
  10. Finish setup by calibrating your sleep spot.

Calibrate your sleep spot

To use Sleep Sensing, you’ll need to calibrate your display to recognize where you sleep.

  1. From the bottom of your display, swipe up.
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Make sure that Motion Sense is on.
  4. Tap Sleep Sensing  and then Calibrate.
  5. Follow the instructions on your display to begin using Sleep Sensing.
  • Note: Since Sleep Sensing monitors the spot you usually sleep, children, pets, and other family members sleeping in that spot will affect your data.
  • Device placement, motion, and other devices nearby might lead to inaccurate readings.
  • If someone nearby coughs or snores while Sleep Sensing is on, this feature might process and attribute those sounds to you.
  • Please make sure you inform people nearby that Sleep Sensing on your Nest Hub might process their sounds, and get their permission before you turn it on.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Princess

Hi Slipchuck,

I just want to make a follow up regarding this. Did the steps work on your end?

Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer it for you.

Best,

In the hub app, I merged all my Gmail accounts and it worked after that

Hi folks,

@CwNL, thanks for the information and we're sorry for this experience. Sleep sensing only works for one Google Account at a time. If you want to set up sleep sensing on both Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) devices, configure them on different accounts. Check out this support website for more information about this feature.

Fill me in if you have other concerns.

Cheers,
Lovely
