I want to be able to connect my 3rd generation AirPods to my google nest hub 1st gen. I have tried doing it as a speaker, but it does not show up.

Not sure that feature is available at this time.  You should ask for the feature request directly in the Home app.  Click on your profile icon in the top right corner and then you'll see the feedback option.

Hey noahdolieslager,

Thanks for reaching out and apologize for the late response.

Appreciate your help MrVacca. Airpods and all other Bluetooth-enabled devices (headphones, speakers) are supported and can be paired via Bluetooth on the Google Home and Nest speakers or displays. Everything is done via the Google Home app on your phone.

Please follow the steps below to know-how:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Make sure you're in the right home. The name of the home is at the top of the screen. To change homes, tap the arrow next to the home name.
  3. Tap your device.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings  and then Audio.
    • If this is your first time to use Bluetooth on this device, tap Paired Bluetooth devices and then Enable pairing mode and then go back to Audio.
  5. Tap Default music speaker and then Pair Bluetooth speaker. Your Google Nest or Home device will then scan for Bluetooth devices.
  6. Tap the Bluetooth device once it appears on the screen and then Done.
  7. Your Bluetooth device will now pair with your Google Nest or Home device.
