Smart life light bulbs appear offline in Google home but work fine in smartlife app

Hello

I recently purchased a few smartlife wifi bulbs and I'm not having any luck in getting the online in Google home.

I have other bulbs from a different app and had no issue.

I have tried unlinking the account. Turning power on and off. Re-pairing the bulbs. Moving them from one room and back to another. Creating a whole new home and moving them into that. Also deleting the smartlife app and reinstalling. Nothing seems to work.

The bulbs work perfect fine in the smartlife app, there is no issue linking accounts and Google home sees them all they just always remain offline.

Both Google home and the smartlife app are fully up to date

Any other ideas/methods would be greatly appreciated

Hi Zenart,

Thanks for posting. Let’s get this sorted out. What’s the make of and model of your phone? Also, do you have a household member in your home structure?

If you have a household member, check if they previously linked SmartLife in their Google Home app. If yes, advise them to unlink it. Otherwise, let’s try doing the steps below:

  • Go to Linked accounts from your Google Account > Remove SmartLife app’s access.
  • Clear app cache. Open your phone’s Settings > Apps > Select the Google Home app (and the SmartLife app) > Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app, then link the SmartLife again.

If that didn’t work, try to use a different phone and let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex

My phone is a Google six pro. I do have another house hold member but they don't and have never had the smart life app.

I have cleared cache/forced stop for both apps and re linked. The light bulbs are still recognized by Google home but appear offline. Smartlife apps also sees the light bulbs and they work normally only within the app.

I have tried linking with a tablet and get the results.

Thanks for your suggestions

Mine worked perfectly until yesterday. Now they are doing the same thing. They will turn on with Google home but will not turn off with google home. They still will work perfectly with the smart home app

Hi folks,

Thanks for the additional details you’ve shared, and sorry for the delay. Are you able to control the lights using voice commands? Could you try to sync the lights by saying, "Hey Google, sync my devices?"

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Juni
