Hey folks,
Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how it feels when there's something wrong with your device. To confirm, are you trying to play music from YouTube or YouTube Music? Is it working before? Do you have the same issue when playing music from your Nest Mini?
Looking forward to your response.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi Muddi
Music from Youtube Music.
It worked before on my Xiaomi smart speaker (for months) and when I added my Google Nest Mini recently it did not work anymore on my Xiaomi.
It works well on the Nest Mini.

Hi Nik3,
Thanks for the information. Please note that we have very limited support on third party speakers with built-in Google Assistant like Xiaomi. If rebooting or resetting the speaker does not fix the issue it is best if you could reach out with the manufacturer for additional steps.
In case you'll experience the same issue on your Nest Mini, a factory reset would normally fix it.

I did reach the manufacturer and if the problem would have been related my Xiaomi speaker, then a reset would have been the solution. But sadly this did not resolve the problem.
So the issue is related to Google Home app, Google Assistant or the Google Mini Nest.
So please, as I am on a page for help from a Google device here don't let me down because the problem occurs on a Xiaomi speaker. It is a Xiaomi speaker with Google Assistant integrated and Google Chromecast after all. And before I added a speaker from Google (the Mini Nest) there was no problem at all!
Also I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. As well as users of non Google smart speakers there are users of Google smart speakers with this problem.
The Google Assistant that says : "I can't do that here but I can play it on another device.".
Google for it and you will find other cases, mostly unresolved. There is one thread about Sonos too. Can I share this link here?
Please dig a bit more to find a solution and really help customers that have issues with Google related devices, even if the speakers are from another brand. As I said I did a reset of my both speakers and it didn't help. So the issue must be more related to something else.

Out of the blue my Xiaomi speaker plays YTM again on his own speaker since yesterday.
I was informed on another page with people with the same problem that theirs did it again. And then I tried mine and Yes ☺️
But I still don't know what happened and how to avoid it happening in the futur.
So please if anyone here having knowledge of the subject, can you find an explanation?
How one and the same assistant can do a same act on one device but not on another. And suddenly out of the blue is able again to provide the same service.
What makes both speakers different? The Xiaomi and the Google Mini Nest? Software?
Is it better not to update?
Thanks for those willing to help me understand this better.

Hey Nik3,
Perfect! I'm happy to hear that YouTube Music is now working on your Xiaomi speaker now. I understand that Google Home/Nest speakers and Xiaomi have the same functionalities but have different software versions and manufacturers. Also, we don't have any information on what really happens since the issue is isolated with your Xiaomi speaker.
It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
Cheers,
Muddi

No, it's not an isolated problem at all!
I said before : there are several fora and several topics about this subject.
Why not leave this open for comments?
Why not help other people (or me because it can come back) by leaving this thread open, so that we can read other experiences with this kind of issues. Someone may now the answer. Why this happens and how we can resolve this.
By closing this thread you just block people who maybe can help thinking further and come with real solutions.
Also people who'll have this problem in the futur will have to open a new thread.

And I accidently marked your answer as solution. How can I undo that?

Hey Nik3,
I already removed the recommended answer. I understand that you want us to keep the thread open. However, since the issue is isolated to a third-party speaker it is best to raise this issue with the manufacturer because this has something to do with their integration with YouTube Music.
I'll keep the thread open for a few more days to monitor your device. Feel free to update the thread if you have questions or concerns about the Google Home/Nest devices.
Cheers,
Muddi
