Someone is viewing my nest hub max camera

I have had my nest hub max for almost 2 months and today while working on the computer a message that someone was viewing the camera on the nest hub max appeared, that is weird because only I have access to it.

I was looking in the nest app or somewhere else to see if there is a log on who access the camera or the IP address that access it, I can tell that for google will be easy to see that after the incident I tried to access the nest cam and see how it works but before me there was someone that accessed it.

The best solution will be that google creates a tool to see the IPs/User/Devices that access the camera  and the time, that could improve the confidence in this kind of products otherwise I can get paranoid and maybe is just a bug.

In the mean time I placed a sheet of paper infront of the camera as I don´t trust the button at the back as it is not a physical barrier and as well it disables the microphone.photo_2023-01-26_13-24-06.jpg

Hi Crio84,

That's not exactly the experience we want you to have with your devices ― let's check it out.

A few questions to isolate your concern: what is the exact message when you received the notification on your Nest Hub Max? Was your phone also notified? How often does it happen in a day? Also, do you have a Nest Aware subscription? Do you have family members that were added as home members? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers then your Nest Camera.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.
  4. Monitor.

By the way, about your request to have a tool to see IPs/User/Devices that accessed the camera and the time, we don't have that feature. It's usually with the ISPs that have that kind of function. We appreciate people who are keen on sharing their thoughts with us. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan
