Sonos and Google home hub

J1mcm

I've just purchased a home hub. I would like to use it to access the sonos app that I use on my Android phone to be able to be able to play my home music server collection. On the Sonos app I can browse and play anything from my collection. I was hoping I'd be able to do similar from the hub, but although I can change my default speakers to my Sonos 1's I can't access my music collection. Can anyone please advise if there is a way to do this? T Also I thought with the 2nd gen hub you could 'swipe up in order to access apps and features, but hi can't do this... thanks in advance!

Hi @J1mcm

The Google Home app does not run Android but a different OS, so there is no way to install the Sonos app.
I don't own any Sonos devices but I have some other speakers in my house. They are integrations possible.

So you can play music on your Sonos speakers by using the Google Nest Hub for exampling by using Google Assistant. I am afraid you are not able to manage your music collection on the Google Hub. 🙄

Hi folks,

@J1mcm, thanks for posting here in the Community forum. I wanted to let you know that @RXShorty is correct. Google has integrations with Spotify and YouTube in which you can use your Nest Hub (2nd Gen) to play music, just as long as it’s set up on the Home app. Since you cannot access your music collection even though you can switch to your Sonos 1’s speaker, having a talk with Sonos support might give you insight if your new Nest Hub (2nd Gen) can be integrated to your Sonos app.

Tell me how it goes.

Best,
Dan
