Also a google home mini with same exact issue. This started about a week ago. I can no longer stream anything using voice commands. Using an app works fine for the same exact content, like radio shows, or youtube music. This happens every time I try to stream. If I ask a question, like what time is it, then no problem, I get answer.

If have rebooted both devices. I have done a factory reset on the mini. My wifi is fine, I can stream to chromecast without any issues (using apps).

It started maybe 10 days ago. And always worked on my commands before.  What I have done, is create a new group with devices. Everything works fine now with the new group. I deleted the broken group, I wished I had thought to do this sooner 😉

I noticed something else ... this only happens when I try to stream from a group. 100% fails if targeting a group, works always if not a group. And apps will stream fine either way. No problem with them, just the google assistant.

Sorry to hear about this experience. A few things I'd like to ask-- when did the issue start to happen? Is it working on your commands before? Lastly, could you please list down all Chromecast and Google Nest speakers that are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and let's figure out what's causing this.
